About
The name Anadrom is derived from Anadromous, fishes migrating 'up stream' from the sea. Tektology® relates to understanding the relationships within systems (physical, social and biological) and their organising principles in the belief that systems adapt to their environment and one that is stable and organised will be greater than the sum of its parts.

As an advisory business, owned by Tektology® Pty Ltd, Anadrom is all about systems and in particular:

-
Thinking as part of a system - upstream and downstream - for greater impact and more sustainable solutions.
-
Focussing on transitions - between people, services, organisations and systems - as the points of greatest risk or opportunity.

Both these concepts are important, but fundamentally it is always about people – connections, conversations, relationships and networks. With these as a basis, for any of the work we undertake, we look for context; evidence; experience and stories / narrative.
Leadership
Anadrom is led by Paul Dolan, who has over 25 years in the Health, Mental Heath and Human Services sectors.
I started my career at a technology organisation who were delivering a major IT program to the NHS back in the early 2000s. I have been fascinated by and worked in the health and mental health sector ever since. My career has included roles in advisory / consulting, in government and in not-for-profits spanning the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

I moved away from technology-enabled change and joined a major professional services business. I was lucky to work on major reform programs in the UK such as World Class Commissioning, Transforming Community Services and Foundation Trust establishment, which provided an opportunity to expand in to policy, integration, improvement, data and analytics.
I moved to Australia in 2010, where I started to focus more on macro health system work – governance, commissioning, funding, performance – alongside an ongoing interest in organisational improvement.

I joined a Board of a not-for-profit in the Mental Health space in the mid-2010s, chairing the Finance & Risk Committee for four years. At that time, I also moved to the Department of Health in Victoria, where I had responsibility for Health System Intelligence and Analytics and then Child and Families reform. I then took up an executive role in the not-for-profit sector with Phoenix Australia, an internationally recognised leader in posttraumatic mental health. From there I rejoined a major professional services business as a lead partner for the Health account in Victoria.
I established Tektology® in 2018 and then Anadrom a few years later, originally as a partnership, and now wholly owned by Tektology Pty Ltd.
